There are many cultural attractions to choose from, the following being of particular interest

Jazz et Bouf festival – 19 - 23 July

This is the sixth year that the local villages have organised this event. If you like your jazz combined with the local cuisine of Raphaël from La Bergerie de Raphaël in Vallandry, then this is probably your highlight of the summer!  The music starts and the street party takes over.  Tickets do need to be reserved in advance. If you want to reserve, please contact us.

Montagnettes et Gourmandises – 22 - 29 July

Daily visits to sample and collect the local delicacies, visit the workshops and markets and have an evening tasting the various local dishes.

Merveilleux Champignons – 12 - 19 August

This is a special week organised by the chemist in Peisey, whose hobby is collecting mushrooms! You go out for walks in the forest to gather the different types of edible mushrooms that grow in the area; please note, this is not an outing to collect the hallucinogenic variety of the fungus!

Festival of the Costumes – 15 August

All the villagers are decked out in traditional Savoyard costume and parade through the old village of Peisey, before setting off up the valley to the Vanoise Park for a picnic and other entertainment.

Other permanent attractions include:

  • Visit the old lead and silver mines
  • Museum of fauna and nature in Seez
  • Visit the Baroque Trail –the beautifully restored Baroque churches of the Savoie.
  • A variety of small artisan workshops in the valley still plying their wares.
